Information for maintenance and care
 
To keep the surface and construction of the windows and doors in good condition, our company would like to give you necessary information to be considered.
 As long as the surface, i.e. the coat of paint on the wood, is intact, wooden windows and wooden doors are resistant against meteorological effects.
 
For the treatment of wooden windows and doors the manufacturers recommend water-based products which are the most environmentally sound.

The active components provide the priming coating with moisture regulating quality, other components of high-quality priming protects the wood against harmful environmental influences by creating a protective film on the wooden surface. Nevertheless, the persistence of all protective coatings is limited. Therefore the window and door surface must be checked before the installation and possible defects eliminated every two years by using suitable products. Because of  the weaker wood preservation the stained surfaces require a more intensive care than coated surfaces.

Damages to the coating should be repaired as quickly as possible. For this purpose it should be preceded as follows:
 
Clean the surface, polish and wipe with fine-grained sandpaper or steel wool and wipe dust.
 
Parts without coating: treat thoroughly with Nelfacryl Transparant.
 
Paint with Nelfacryl Transparant in the desired color.
 
Colorless or stains containing only a small quantity of pigments require a more intensive care than products with a high pigment content, because of the lower UV-resistance. 
 
For cleaning use conventional household products. Never use aggressive solvent-based cleaning agents, alkaline products or abrasive cleaner.
 
So that the windows and doors close and open properly, the hinges and remaining metal parts should be also maintained regularly.
